HDPE Specification

High-density Polyethylene (HDPE): is a highly crystalline non-polar thermoplastic resin produced through the copolymerization of ethylene and a small amount of α-olefin monomer. HDPE is synthesized under low pressure and is therefore also called low-pressure polyethylene. HDPE is mainly a linear molecular structure and has little branching. It has a high degree of crystallization and high density. It can withstand high temperatures and has good rigidity mechanical strength and anti-chemical corrosion

Product Description

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is a commonly used plastic with numerous advantages that make it widely employed across various applications. Here are some key advantages of HDPE:

  1. High Strength and Rigidity: HDPE exhibits high tensile strength and rigidity, making it well-suited for applications requiring durability and the ability to withstand heavy loads and high pressures.
  2. Chemical Resistance: HDPE is resistant to many chemicals and solvents, making it an ideal choice for applications such as storage tanks, pipelines, and chemical processing equipment.
  3. Fatigue Resistance: HDPE has excellent fatigue resistance, making it durable in applications subject to repeated cycles of stress and strain.
  4. Low Water Absorption: HDPE has low water absorption properties, maintaining stability in wet conditions and resisting swelling, warping, or deformation.
  5. Low-Temperature Resistance: HDPE retains its physical properties at low temperatures without becoming brittle, making it suitable for refrigeration and frozen applications.
  6. Good Electrical Insulation: HDPE serves as an effective electrical insulator, widely used in electrical and electronic applications like cable insulation and electrical components.
  7. Lightweight: HDPE is relatively lightweight, contributing to its use in applications where reducing structural loads is advantageous.
  8. Easy Processing: HDPE is easy to process and shape using methods such as extrusion, injection molding, and blow molding, allowing for the production of a variety of shapes and sizes.
  9. Environmental Friendliness: HDPE is a recyclable plastic, contributing to reduced dependence on finite resources and supporting sustainable development.
  10. Food-Grade Certification: HDPE is considered a food-grade material, making it suitable for applications in food and beverage packaging. In summary, these advantages make HDPE a versatile material widely employed in construction, packaging, industrial, agricultural, and many other fields.

Product Application

HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) is a common polymer with characteristics of high density, high strength, and chemical corrosion resistance. Due to its excellent physical and chemical properties, HDPE is widely used in various applications. Here are some common uses of HDPE:

  1. Packaging Materials: HDPE is extensively used to manufacture plastic bottles, food packaging bags, plastic containers, and other packaging materials. Its high density and chemical stability make it an ideal material for storing liquids and food.
  2. Pipes and Pipe Systems: HDPE pipes are widely used for the transportation of water, gas, and chemicals due to their high strength, corrosion resistance, and flexibility. They are common in urban infrastructure and industrial applications.
  3. Injection Molded Products: HDPE is used to manufacture various injection-molded products such as buckets, basins, toys, furniture, etc. This is because HDPE has high impact strength and rigidity.
  4. Garbage Bags and Bins: Due to its tear resistance and strength, HDPE is commonly used in the production of garbage bags and bins.
  5. Civil Engineering: HDPE films are used in agriculture to cover the soil, reducing water evaporation and suppressing weed growth. Additionally, HDPE films are used in civil engineering applications such as water management and underground drainage systems.
  6. Chemical Containers: Because of its chemical resistance, HDPE is widely used in the manufacture of chemical containers, tanks, and chemical transport pipelines.
  7. Recycled Plastics: HDPE is one of the easily recyclable plastic types and can be used to produce recycled plastic products, contributing to the reduction of environmental impact from plastic waste. Overall, the excellent performance of HDPE makes it an ideal choice in various industries, and its applications are diverse.
